Betws-y-coed comes in first place as the best UK holiday hotspot.
Go Outdoors said: “This delightful village presents the perfect Welsh welcome. Perfect for holiday-goers, Betws-y-coed is a gateway to Snowdonia and its neighbouring towns.
“Inviting you into a distinctly magical setting surrounded by forests, walking trails such as the Cyrau Walk, and mountain bike tours on routes such as the Gwydir Mawr and Bach, there’s no denying that Betws-y-coed has plenty to offer.
“It’s therefore no surprise that this holiday destination grabs the top spot with a score of 8.40 out of 10.”
It added: “Ambleside comes in second place. Located in the Lake District, the holiday destination is packed with many shops and restaurants, but it also has a great selection of places to stay.”
Whitby named one of the best UK solo travelling spots on TikTok
Whitby was also recently ranked in third place in the ‘top 10 UK destinations solo travellers need to visit according to TikTok’ list.
The research was conducted by holiday provider Parkdean Resorts who analysed the amount of views that a number of locations received on the social media app, and by searching the hashtag #solotrip which has recorded more than 294 million views.
As the summer months slowly creep in and the first signs of a heat wave begin to show, Whitby could be just the place for you to escape and explore if you fancy a trip to the coast or a bit of ‘me time’.
Parkdean Resorts said: “Receiving over 21,300 views, Whitby is the most popular seaside resort in the North of England for solo travellers.
“Take in the coastal breeze, enjoy fish and chips by the sea and climb up the 199 steps which offer sweeping views of the harbour and town.”
