Popular characters from the Death in Paradise series swap the stunning backdrop of the Caribbean for the picturesque South West coastline in a new spin-off series.
Beyond Paradise continues the story of DI Humphrey Goodman and his fiancée Martha Lloyd from the popular Death in Paradise series which is due to run its twelfth season this year.
Near the end of the sixth series in 2017, Humphrey Goodman, played by Kris Marshall, decides to move back to London with Martha Lloyd, who is played by Sally Bretton.
Filming in the area is a homecoming of sorts for actor Kris Marshall who was born in Bath and attended Wells Cathedral School in the neighbouring county of Somerset.
The spinoff series begins with the couple arriving in Shipton Abbott, Martha’s hometown near the beautiful Devon coast, having left London.
Shipton Abbott is a fictional town, but the filming locations were centred around the South West coastline of England which provides a stunning backdrop to the six-part series.
A large part of the filming took place around Looe, a small coastal fishing town in south-east Cornwall.
Looe is known to have been a busy fishing and trading port from at least the early Medieval period but is most famous for its unusually shaped pier and is separated into two by the River Looe into East Looe and West Looe.
The harbour is set in a steep-sided valley and from the hill top there are some fantastic views of the surrounding area.
Just a mile off the coast of East Looe is Looe Island, sometimes known as St George's Island which a marine nature reserve under the stewardship of the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

Members of the cast and crew have also been spotted in the areas surrounding the Devon and Cornwall border.
The Rame Peninsula is known as Cornwall's forgotten south east corner and sits on the opposite side of the River Tamar to the port city of Plymouth.
Filming has also taken place in Saltash, known as the 'Gateway to Cornwall', it is here where Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s iconic Royal Albert Bridge connects Saltash to Plymouth, spanning the River Tamar.
Further west, Port Eliot is described as a key shooting location in the series. Located in the St Germans parish, the estate has been the ancestral seat of the Eliot family since the 16th century. The 6,000 acre estate comprises of a Grade I listed house and garden and further afield, the grounds extend down to one of Cornwall's hidden estuaries, the River Tiddy, which, further downstream, becomes the Lynher.
Recent reports in the press claim that the public have spotted filming taking place in other local spots such as Bere Ferrers in West Devon and Weir Quay in the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Beyond Paradise starts on BBC One and iPlayer on Friday 24 February and comprises of six weekly episodes.
