With an impressive clutch of awards for food, hospitality and service in 2024, Grantley Hall has proved that it does luxury with a capital L.

Only last month it was the venue for the Yorkshire Children's Charity Night Under the Stars event. raising more than £1 million to support vulnerable children. The event gave a glittering glimpse of how the Grantley Hall team creates a night to remember.

A two-night getaway to welcome 2025. On arrival you will be greeted with mulled wine and mince pies. Unwind at the Three Graces Spa before indulging in a celebratory dinner. Choose from the Michelin-starred Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall, classic British dishes at Fletchers Restaurant, or the Asian-fusion cuisine at Bar & Restaurant EightyEight. Alternatively, you can upgrade to the exclusive New Year’s Eve Gala Ball.

2025 will be marked by a spectacular fireworks display, and you will have access to Valeria’s Champagne & Cocktail Bar for late-night entertainment.

New Year’s Day will be a leisurely affair. After breakfast, enjoy a morning walk around nearby Fountains Abbey before returning to the spa to relax. For lunch, you can choose between The Orchard or Fletchers Restaurant. Spend the rest of the day unwinding and preparing for your final dinner before departing the following day.

The Glittering Gala Ball

Grantley Hall’s most glamorous event of the year. This black-tie affair begins with Champagne on arrival, followed by a four-course feast. Live entertainment and a glass of Champagne at midnight and a spectacular fireworks display.

Michelin-starred chef Shaun Rankin uses ingredients from the hotel's kitchen garden and local producers. Image: Grantley Hall Shaun Rankin is originally from Yorkshire and honed his skills at The Mayfair Hotel in London. His love of the sea then took him to the Channel Islands. In 2003 he joined Bohemia restaurant, gaining his first Michelin star in 2005. Shaun opened Ormer in 2013 in St Helier which was awarded its first Michelin star four months after opening. Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall opened in July 2019, where he is Chef Patron. The restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star in January 2020 and four AA rosettes in September 2023.

Shaun is passionate about showcasing local and seasonal food, working with Yorkshire producers and making the most of Grantley Hall’s extensive kitchen garden.

Image: Grantley Hall Samira Effa was born in Huddersfield, starting her career at a local restaurant whilst still at school. There she developed her love of rich flavours thanks to her Iranian mother and Nigerian father.

Since then, she has worked in various Michelin-starred restaurants including 21212 in Edinburgh, Alimentum in Cambridge and Bohemia in Jersey.

Samira became head chef at Bar & Restaurant EightyEight at Grantley Hall in June 2022. She appeared on the most recent series of Great British Menu.

At Restaurant EightyEight she cooks Asian fusion food, ‘bursting with flavour, particularly curries which are one of my favourite things to cook.’
