Bring your best four-legged friend or even a poochy pack along to the Yorkshire Life Dog Walk. Gathering at Harewood Estate’s main event venue – the beautiful grade II listed stable block The Hovels run by Harewood Food and Drink Project – join a pack of friendly pooches for a leisurely group dog walk around Harewood’s enchanting estate.
The Hovels will be serving up bacon or egg sandwiches, along with teas and coffees before you head out on your waggy walk. There’ll also be plenty of treats on hand for each hound with Dougie’s kindly giving out samples of their Warrendale wagyu cold pressed dog food.
The route is around 4.5km in total, but there are options to make this longer or shorter depending on your furry friend’s needs. As we head up through the deer park, be sure to keep a look out for red and fallow deer that roam the estate. Continuing up Church Lane, the route opens up to stunning views over Wharfdale, Otley Chevin, and Ilkley Moor, as well as Almscliffe Crag and the River Wharfe.
We’ll stop off at Muddy Boots Café where there’ll be complimentary puppucinos and doggy sausages waiting for your four-legged friends – with takeaway coffee or slice of cake to see you through the rest of the walk.
For those with slightly more energetic doggos, there’s the option to take the long way back by following the Estate wall south towards Wike where you can enjoy the beautiful views of Harewood House. Tired pups and senior canines may prefer the shorter route through the deer park and round past the Estate offices, shop, and holiday cottages, bringing you back to The Hovels. There’ll be a members of the team on hand to show you the way.

Please note: All abilities are welcome. Parking is available at The Hovels, and regular buses run from Ripon, Harrogate and Leeds that are dog friendly.
