Brought to you by the creative genius that is The Grazing Guys, Josh and Huw’s latest venture is the perfect place to celebrate this festive season.
Located in Brighouse, The Brick Yard isn’t what you’d expect to stumble across, but the pair have successfully (and stylishly, may we add) reimagined this place in true 'Grazing Guys' style. Mixing an industrial backdrop with modern touches and lots of fun elements, such as neon signs and giant wire spheres, has resulted in one of the coolest hangouts the area has ever seen.
Primarily a unique events space, The Brick Yard lends itself to a variety of occasions, from weddings to workshops, birthday parties to product launches, and even corporate get-togethers.
Of course, the guys will be hosting their own pop-up nights and special events throughout the year so make sure to keep an eye out for those on their website and Instagram.
Throughout December, the pair have put on an extensive offering of bottomless brunches and festive fondues. We popped in for a tipple (or three) and fully immersed ourselves in the fondue. Well, not literally, but if we could have done, trust us - we would!
So, what to expect?!
Well, if you’re familiar with the feature we did with the guys back in the November ‘21 issue of Yorkshire Life, which you can read here, you’ll know how they like to deliver the wow factor, and by golly, their fondues don’t disappoint!
When we were invited down to try out their cheesy alpine fondue, Christmas cocktails and silky chocolate fondue, we should have remembered that the guys don’t do things by halves!
Basically, we suggest a 24-hour fast before attending, because you’re going to need the room. We were absolutely blown away when the cheese fondue came out in the middle of a giant wooden board surrounded by all the trimmings you could ever imagine! Think a mountain of the fluffiest roast potatoes, glazed carrots, warm breads, mixed meats, plenty of fruit and veg, and PIGS IN BLANKETS – well that was a game changer we didn’t see coming!
The chocolate fondue was just as impressive with a beautiful, silky consistency and not at all sickening as these things can be. We were like kids in a candy shop as we dipped in marshmallows, Turkish delight, chunks of cake, fresh fruits and festive cake pops.
Of course, all of this is made, cooked and baked from scratch in-house, and with Josh and Huw’s extensive experience, you know you’re getting the best.
And they’ve made sure to curate a drinks list to be just as impressive as their foodie fare. If you have a tipple of choice, you’re more than likely going to find it on the menu here. Not only will you find a fantastic selection of classic cocktails, wines, spirits and beers, but seasonal drinks are on the menu, too.
We absolutely loved their Christmas cocktails – especially the Baileys and Gingerbread Espresso Martinis and a good old-fashioned Snowball. If you want to really push the boat out, order one of their boozy hot chocolates with a side serving of churros – you’ll feel as though Christmas has come early!
No matter what brings you to The Brick Yard, one thing’s for sure – you're in for a treat!
