How Green is Your Wardrobe?
How green is your wardrobe? And I’m not talking about sustainability this time, but the colour.
Is it any surprise that one of this year’s dominating colours for the S/S season is associated with nature and new beginnings?
When we think of green, we think of growth, new life and that all important green light that we’ve finally been given as we get back out into the world at full speed.
The runways have been full of every different shade of green you can think of, from bright lime and bold neon to subdued moss and sage-like shades. If, like me, green is not a colour you’ve ever worn before, there really is so much choice for you to have fun and experiment with.
There’s no sign of this colour disappearing by winter either so it’s worth investing in some key pieces.
Ganni’s autumn collection, as seen in Copenhagen’s fashion week, was full of the boldest and brightest greens. Think of lime green jumpers with a grey work suit to brighten up your office attire or a dark green dress with a black blazer for a more subtle look.

I must confess it’s an online brand I’d not heard of before until I had the pleasure of working with them recently for their latest denim campaign. I love how they’re really showing up for midlife women and showcasing older models that others can really relate to in their campaigns.
I found it interesting that Manchester-based Ambrose Wilson was founded back in 1875 and was the first to make use of the UK’s parcel post service to mail out products direct to customers.
I’ve gone head to toe green for this outfit which I love, but you can obviously pare it right down and just start with accessories if this look scares you. I’ve worn these green Vision Express glasses for years now so I’m glad I’ve kept them as they’re finally on trend!
The dress is really flattering, and it’s got pockets which is always a win with me. You could even wear it open over leggings with a t-shirt for a more relaxed look.
It’s all about making your wardrobe work harder for you. I’ll be wearing the bright green blazer with a white t-shirt and white jeans for a fresh summer look.
Continuing the link to nature, it’s no surprise how many other colours go well with green. If we think how naturally green sits with so many flowers in the garden it’s no surprise that pinks, oranges, blues, and yellows work so well with green.
I love the idea that green can really reflect your own mood perhaps like no other colour can.

Where I’m going this month
I can’t wait to see Reef play live at Stylus, University Union in Leeds at the end of April. I’m so happy that live music gigs are happening again. Nothing better than good music and a bit of dancing.
I’m also finally able to book my Clay Pigeon shooting session at Coniston Hotel too which was bought as a gift pre-pandemic so that should be interesting. Wish me luck!
What I’m watching
I’m loving Inventing Anna on Netflix, based on the infamous fake heiress who stole the hearts and a lot of money from New York elites. It’s a fascinating story and I can’t believe she got away with it for as long as she did. Fashion lovers will be able to swoon over the gorgeous outfits too!
