Caption the moment with BigBoothBoutique! Bringing fun, spontaneity and individuality to your celebration!
BigBoothBoutique was created by Brighton portrait photographer Paula Fash for a friend’s wedding in 2011.
The couple had asked Fash to help make their wedding day as individual as them. They wanted all their guests to mix well and so Fash used her skills and imagination to come up with a new take on the Guestbook. She wanted to do something completely different, fun and original not only for the couple but all their guests too.
She is a longstanding fan of fridge magnetic letters which gave her the idea of guests using these to create messages of love and celebration. And so the BigBoothBoutique was born!
Fash set up her pop-up studio in the manor house grounds where the wedding was being held. Using a polka dot background to suit the 50s theme she invited the guests to use message boards to caption their greetings. Everyone embraced the idea and the resulting images, beautifully presented in a coffee table style book, thrilled the newly-weds. “When I edited the images I knew I had struck on an original idea that would give couples a very personal keepsake of their wedding” says Fash.
Fash has developed a range of backdrops and message boards that enable her to tailor the Booth to whatever theme the couple has chosen for their wedding. “A recent client released butterflies during the ceremony and so I created a butterfly backdrop for the portraits” says Fash. This is one of BigBoothBoutique’s unique features which taps into the individuality and personality of the couple and their guests.
Everyone has such fun in the Booth and this shines through in the photos that Fash takes. As one of her clients says “all my guests were talking about how much fun the whole thing was, I can't recommend the BigBoothBoutique highly enough!"
Fash studied Illustration at Brighton University and has diplomas in Photography and Reportage Photography from City College and the London College of Communications. She has been working as a freelance photographer since 2005 which has included working on promotional photos and music videos for local artists such as Alice Russell and Fat Boy Slim.
The BigBoothBoutique is mobile and adaptable, suitable for all sorts of settings, both indoors and outdoors. “The most challenging venue I have been to was a hog roast reception at the top of Devil’s Dyke where a howling gale threatened to blow away all the marques and my team worked all evening to keep the booth standing whilst ensuring the guests continued to have a great time” Fash recalls with a grin.
BigBoothBoutique is a fun and spontaneous photo booth with a twist, capturing the creativity and special messages of your friends and family at any celebration. These wonderful portraits are printed in a fabulous book bursting with fun, good wishes and smiles aplenty; which will be a constant delight and talking point for many years to come. Every client has a personalised consultation where themes, locations and package details are agreed. A range of options are available from the Little Booth package which provides the book and 3 hours photography time to the Deluxe Wedding package. Other add-ons include save the date and thank you cards, table themes and place names and a display print of choice.
The great thing about the BigBoothBoutique concept is that you can apply it to all sorts of other events and occasions such as corporate dos, birthday celebrations, school proms, wedding anniversaries and even farewell parties for those relocating abroad.
Fash certainly seems to be onto a winner with her bespoke take on a photo booth. Jolie Booth says it all “Looking back through the book from our wedding still brings tears to my eyes every time. I love it so much, it's beautiful. Thanks for helping to make it the most special day of our lives!”
