Kira Robinson-Fleck, Early Years pupil at Shoreham College, met East Worthing and Shoreham MP, Tim Loughton, when he came in to congratulate her on winning his annual festive greeting card competition.

Mr Loughton challenges the children from primary schools in his constituency to design a card, which he sends to senior politicians, including the Prime Minister, and every constituent across Adur and East Worthing, 45,000 in total.

He had the difficult job of whittling down many high quality entries to an overall winner and two runners-up, whose work is illustrated inside the card and said: “It’s been a brilliant year of delightfully imaginative entries. It really was difficult to pick out the winner.”

Tim eventually agreed on the design by four-year-old Kira, which featured a simple but imaginative reindeer design based on Kira’s footprint.

Kira was delighted to meet Mr Loughton and receive a book and chocolate snowman but the most exciting thing for her was spotting her name inside the card!

“I decided to make a reindeer”, she told Tim, “and it was fun having my foot painted, it tickled!”
