2. Byron, Auction Street

Byron Burger first opened its doors in London in 2007, taking inspiration from the classic burgers that owner Tom Byng used to eat in a small diner in America. Living in London and unable to get a decent burger like he used to enjoy back in the States, Byron was born.

All Byron burgers are made from 100% British beef using 6oz patties cooked medium to keep them pink and juicy and served with pickles and a fresh bun. The theme of simplicity runs throughout the menu: burgers range from the ‘Classic’, ‘Cheese’, ‘Double Bacon’ or the ‘B-Rex’ with BBQ sauce, onion rings and jalapenos.

7. The Old Cannon Brewery, Cannon Street

The Old Cannon Brewery has got it all: an in house brewery, a bar, a brasserie and a B&B. Its stunning Victorian building was – as the name suggests – originally an old brewery that was closed during the First World War and today the old brew house is used to accommodate the hotel guests. Open since 1999, the brasserie has earned a reputation for producing wonderful food using the best local ingredients from the area that change seasonally.

The mouth-watering ‘Old Cannon Beef Burger’ from the Cannon Fodder Favourites menu is a real crowd-pleaser: made up of a juicy beef patty on a homemade bun, with stacks of bacon, lashings of melted cheese and chilli jam and onion rings, burgers don’t come better than this. Make sure to enjoy with a pint of one of the Brewery’s locally brewed beers – we recommend the Brass Monkey!
