Arcade Street Tavern is a unique craft beer house in a beautiful historic Georgian town house in the centre of Ipswich, with two bars, a courtyard and extensive heated outside seating. We are more than just another Bar or Pub.
Arcade Street Tavern is all about Beer, Gin and fine spirits and amazing small batch coffee from small independent roasters. We serve the best there is available. We have a professional team who are passionate about the products and are always happy to assist with your choice.
On the beer side we have over 120 of the latest Craft and Heritage beers, all listed with tasting notes via our dedicated beer menus. New beers arrive weekly in keg & can and many new beers are at the cutting edge of brewing from small independent breweries which you are unlikely to find anywhere else. We stock most of the Belgian heritage favourites, such as Delirium Tremens, Kwak and Bruges Zot. DEUS Brut des Flanders Champagne Beer is also on the core list plus Trappist and Abbey Ales feature heavily. Look out for the high Abv's! We serve our extensive Belgian beer list correctly in their own unique glassware.
We are Suffolk's premier Belgian beer bar.
German beers are very popular here and we always stock the München favourites such as Paulaner, Hacker-Pschorr and Augustiner plus plenty of other rarities. We host our annual Oktoberfest celebration in line with the worlds most famous beers festival at the end of September, definitely one not to be missed.
In the last 12 months we featured over 800 beers and this year will see even more! Our beers are offered on the Tavern's 13 taps split over two bars and Cask Ale is offered on our two hand pulls so these change daily.
Regular beer tasting sessions are offered, one of the most popular is Cheese and Beer Pairing. You can find these listing on our website or we can arrange a bespoke session for your special celebration or corporate event.
Gins
100 Gins are always offered along with 25 rums, the list's changes regularly with us searching the latest available and bringing these to you on a weekly basis. Tutored Gin tasting sessions are available on a monthly basis in our dedicated Tasting rooms, open to all when pre booked, but Private sessions are regularly booked for corporate client entertaining or for private Birthday celebrations.
Private Hire options in the Tasting Rooms
A unique offering within the town centre, we have tasting rooms that can be booked for private celebrations.
The first is a beautiful Georgian room on the first floor with large sash windows, is fully air conditioned and totally private. This proves very popular with corporate bookings and smaller celebrations and can be reserve for a maximum of 30 guests. Hot and Cold buffet options are available upon request or less formal canapes menus can be provided.Our Original larger "Tasting Room" downstairs is one of the main bar areas although can be separated for private events. This has its own dedicated Bar with full beer taps and all our usual offering of Gins and spirits. This room has the added bonus of a covered courtyard. The larger room can host groups of up to 75 and is a firm favourite for all those celebrating milestone Birthdays. Food can be arranged by way of Buffet or canapes or another option within this room is to book one of our Street food vendors where a special offer can be arranged for larger groups.
Street Food
Fortnightly on Fridays during the summer we have street food vendors pitch up under the Georgian arch to showcase their wonderful food. Cooked right in front of you and open to all, eating can be inside or out the Tavern. You simply pay the vendor and buy a drink and enjoy the great atmosphere, there might even be live music playing. We have extensive outside heated seating areas for over 90. The pairing of unusual street food and amazing craft beer goes hand in hand, we have been serving this since 2015.
Events
We offer many different events at Arcade Tavern, with themed music events , Gin & Beer festivals. Meet the brewer and Tap Takeovers where we dedicate some taps to one specific brewery and you get to meet the guys behind the brand. Comedy and Magic nights have been on the agenda in the past.
