A North Walsham school is inspiring new pupils with some exciting new initiatives
The start of the new academic year has been a busy one for St Nicholas House Prep School and Nursery in North Walsham – with an 85pc rise in the number of pupils now attending the main school.
Since the school was taken over by new owners in September 2015, it has seen major investment across the board, from developing the curriculum to refurbishing facilities. This term sees the launch of two new initiatives which will give pupils of all ages the opportunity to learn and develop exciting new skills, focusing on physical development and engaging children with the natural world.
Staff are working in partnership with the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation to enable children to try more sports, and a new Forest School programme will be launched - encouraging pupils to explore the great outdoors, learn more about nature and develop a sense of adventure and connection with the environment.
The school takes pupils aged two to 11 and as well as seeing a growth in the number of pupils attending the main school, there has been a large increase in parents enrolling their children into the newly refurbished nursery, which now opens 51 weeks of the year, from 7.30am–6pm, five days a week.
