A seaside town in Lancashire has piers that have been named among the UK’s most beautiful in a list by The Telegraph.

The newspaper said it had decided to “take a tour of other fine examples (of piers) across the country” following the Brighton Pier’s decision to start charging people to walk along it.

Blackpool’s piers have been named some of the most beautiful in the UK but what did the Telegraph say about them? – Let’s take a look.

What did The Telegraph say about Blackpool's piers?

The Telegraph said: “Trust Blackpool, that big-haired angel of the north west, to up the ante – by having a trio of elevated promenades above the sea.

“Of the triptych, the North Pier is the oldest (hewn in 1863), the Central Pier the most picturesque (thanks to its vast ferris wheel) and the South Pier the most thrilling – with its Crazy Coaster.”
