PUPILS past and present from Westholme School, near Blackburn, staged an inaugural event designed to inspire students considering their future career paths.
‘Beyond Westholme’ at Ewood Park focused on life skills, opportunities and next steps for pupils in Years 11, 12 and 13.
Alumni enjoyed a champagne reception while current students also enjoyed a reception of their own with canapes and soft drinks served in the beautifully decorated Jack’s Lounge. They then came together for the formal part of the evening.
After an official welcome from the principal, Mrs Lynne Horner, Mr Edwin Booth, head of the Lancashire food retail specialist, Booths, delivered the keynote speech about hard work, perseverance and enthusiasm.
