Essex charity Presidents Sporting Club & Essex Disabled Sports Foundation held its Children’s Sports Awards Lunch in December at Barleylands in Billericay. The charity, which has raised more than £2.5million, provides sporting facilities for children with disabilities throughout East Anglia and the home counties.
With more than 650 children and 300 adults attending, the event had a real celebratory feel. The highlight of the day was the awards ceremony, in which some of the children were recognised for their sporting achievement or endeavour. There were plenty of celebrity guests in attendance, including Sir Trevor Brooking, Frank Bruno MBE, Peter Shilton OBE, Pat Jennings OBE and Tony Cottee.
