We’ve teamed up with Plymouth College of Art to showcase their BA (Hons) Fashion students’ amazing graduate collections
Kinga Aradi is the latest Devon-based Plymouth College of Art graduate to offer us a look at her stunning collection.
Named NABO (which, according to her, means ‘one’ in maasai), she has used the theme of one throughout.
“I used one shape - a rectangle - as a pattern to create my garments,” Kinga explains.
Using sustainable techniques, such as zero cutting, zero waste and recycling, Kinga’s collection is as environmentally-friendly as it is creative and eye-catching.
The fabrics used throughout the collection are soft and feminine and feature screen prints, appliqué and digital prints (mimaki). The colours are bold and the patterns are inspired by maasai culture - for example their emblematic square scarf and their necklaces, which Kinga combined to create a unique pattern.
“My collection is an example of how you can create valuable garments in a sustainable aspect,” she says.
