The week will include a whole host of events perfect for Devon book worms
Crediton Community Bookshop is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Independent Bookshop Week, with the aim to encourage people to read and discover, or rediscover some fantastic books and support their local bookshop.
Crediton Community Bookshop is a community-owned independent bookshop in Crediton. Owned by 300 local people it runs as a social enterprise, stocking a unique and varied range of carefully chosen books and promoting community, local authors and children’s literacy.
Their patron, Michael Morpurgo, renowned children’s author and third appointed Children’s Laureate, has been shortlisted for the IBW children’s award this year.
The week will include a whole host of events perfect for any book worms amongst you. For example the CCB has teamed up with an illustrator to create a ‘reader’s map’, designed to inspire readers and act as a guide if you’re a bit spoilt for choice and not quite sure which book to pick up next.
A team of volunteers will also be recommending, reviewing books and publishing desert island book lists to be announced on social media and at the shop throughout the week.
Be inspired, read something new or a forgotten classic, buy a book you’ve always wanted to read and support local bookshops everywhere by getting involved with the IBW and visiting the Crediton Community Bookshop this week.
