Christmas markets taking place across Derbyshire in the coming weeks, all of which are sure to get you feeling suitably festive

Chatsworth Christmas Market

There’s no better way to start your Christmas shopping than at the Chatsworth Christmas market.

With over 100 market stalls offering a wide range of Christmas gifts and decorations, plus live music and seasonal food and drink, it's a lovely way to welcome in the festive season.

Visitors can also explore our own exclusive ranges in the Stables shop.

November 9 – December 1

Bakewell Christmas Market

Explore tastes of different cultures or fill your soul with comforting favourites as over 100 stalls in and around beautiful Bakewell entice you with food, drink, lovingly made gifts, crafts, plants and more.

This event is packed with things to keep those five senses tingling, including: James McKay and his owls of Harry Potter fame; Children’s rides and face painting; Local DJ; and much more.

November 16-17 (9am-5pm)

Chesterfield Lights Switch on and Market

Residents and visitors can get into the festive spirit at the annual and popular Chesterfield Christmas Lights Switch On and Market.

As well as the switch on – and various accompanying attractions - a market will run alongside this event in the Market Square and the Market Hall will be open so shoppers can start picking up presents from local businesses.

November 17 (12.30pm-5.30pm)

Victorian Matlock Christmas Market

Experience the official start of the festive season in Matlock.

Featuring over 200 stalls, discover a winter wonderland with an incredible array of unique gifts, crafts, and goodies for everyone on your Christmas list.

A food lover's paradise, delight in specialist foods and culinary delights.

The day includes entertainment for the whole family. From festive performances to fun fair rides, there’s something for everybody.

December 6-8

Christmas Fair at Buxton Pavilion Gardens

The Octagon Hall and Lounge will have over 50 stalls offering a wonderful mix of gifts, jewellery, artwork, handcrafted clocks, photography, ceramics, woodwork, handmade cards, toys and clothing.

Outside will be hot food and drinks stalls and children’s rides (weather permitting).

Santa’s Grotto will be in the Octagon Hall and Father Christmas himself will be there on both days 12pm – 5pm.

December 7-8 (10am-5pm)

Matlock Christmas Market

Always a firm favourite on the festive calendar, head to Derbyshire’s county town for a weekend full of Christmas activities, including no fewer than 150 stalls selling a huge variety of local goods and produce.

The Christmas market takes place on Hall Leys Park where you can expect the usual array of attractions and entertainment to get you into the festive spirit as Christmas Day approaches.

December 21-22 (9am-6pm)
