The Black Swan, Idridgehay
Both Gareth and I have worked in the Industry and between us have over 20 years experience, having worked for some of the best restaurants in London. We are a husband and wife team, with Gareth taking care of the Kitchen and me the front of house.
We plan to close for 4 weeks to do some refurbishment on the place, to give it a new lease of life. The Black Swan is already well known in the area for good food and we want to continue this. Having a new decor will bring it up to date with what is on offer out there in terms of eating out. There will be a cosy bar area, main dining room and conservatory room. The conservatory room seats 30 people and can be used for private parties and functions.
The Black Swan will serve British dishes using the best of british seasonal ingredients. The menu will offer a range of bar food and, starters, main dishes and desserts. Central to our menu is our sharing concept. There will be dishes which are geared towards sharing, whether it is between two or a larger group of people. With Christmas coming, this is a great way to enjoy good food, sharing, chatting, eating, with work colleagues, families, friends, making it very social and fun. The bar will be perfect for early dinner drinks and those wishing to share a bottle of wine with a small selection of sharing plates in comfortable, friendly, informal surroundings.
We are really looking forward to welcoming all the customers of the Black Swan back again and hopefully some new ones too, when we re-open in early November.
