A special CPRE Gloucestershire presentation ceremony was held at Gambier Parry Hall, Highnam
CPRE Gloucestershire, the Countryside Charity, is the local branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) which aims for a thriving, beautiful countryside that is accessible for everyone.
The Gloucestershire annual awards have been running since 2008. Each year CPRE Gloucestershire recognises and celebrates projects across Gloucestershire which demonstrate sustainability and have resulted in significant improvements to the environment and facilities for communities.
Presented by their President, Charles Martell, the award recipients for 2022 were Destination Lydney Harbour, Barnwood Park environmental improvements, Ashleworth Hub, Leckhampton Hill and Charlton Kings Common Partnership management, and St James Great Church, Stoke Orchard, wall paintings conservation project. Each project received a certificate and a plaque for display at their project site.
Nominations for next year’s awards are now open and are welcome from any source – community, private, voluntary sector or partnerships of organisations – but must have the approval of the owner.
Projects should demonstrate sustainability, involve improvements to the environment – whether natural or built – and be visible from public places.
