It’s the most important day of your life. Make sure your pooch is there. We asked photographer Serena Robinson to share some of her favourite pet wedding shots
Serena’s top tips
1. Have a dedicated carer that you trust will look after your dog and who it knows. Then you can pass the lead to them when you are busy or your dog needs a walk.
2. Have a few treats at hand and make sure your dog has access to water throughout the day.
3. Be confident that your dog will do as he or she is told and not get stressed. Weddings are noisy events which may prove too much for some animals. You don’t want your furry friend barking at important moments or excitedly jumping up at guests who are dressed in their best bib and tucker.
4. If you’d like your dog to be featured in your day but not for too long, arrange for a pet carer to bring your dog along to a designated place for a few photographs.
5. Ask your vet or fellow dog walkers to recommend a pet carer if you don’t know one and meet them several times to allow your dog to get to know them.
6. If your venue isn’t pet friendly or you feel the day will be too much for them arrange for photographs to be taken at a different time. You could also arrange a post-wedding shoot.
