Real Housewife Hanna Kinsella is loving every minute of the Christmas season - and has started the festive fun already with a fabulous family photo shoot

Christmastime plans

We’re going to be having a family Christmas at home this year, rather than go abroad. Obviously, the babies are both still very young, but it will be Kimia’s first Christmas and I’m really looking forward to having a bit of family time with my parents and with Martin’s parents. On Christmas Day we’ll be going to my mum and dad’s house, and my dad is going to be cooking the Christmas dinner.

Because it’s our first Christmas as a family of four, I arranged for a festive photoshoot at The Newborn Emporium, in Manchester. It was so much fun – I almost can’t wait for the children to be older so we can look back and say “Ahh, remember when they were this little!” Both Max and Kimia were perfectly behaved and it went without a hitch.

I’ve not asked for any particular presents this year, I think Martin’s going to surprise me, but I always love surprise presents so that’s good! We’re going to get Max a car, which Martin is especially happy about. Every time we go to the Trafford Centre and we pass the toy department in Selfridges, he’s always saying he can’t wait to buy Max one of those little electric cars, a little G-Wagon or a little Lambo, so I think that’s what we’ll be getting. Kimia is still so young, I don’t think she’ll have a clue what’s going on, so I’ll probably just get her some new clothes.

We’re going to get our house all decorated for Christmas as we do every year, and I’m definitely going to go for a cream and gold theme this year, so I’m excited for them to go up.

We’ve also got plans to see a few of our friends over Christmas. I always think it’s nice to get some activities booked in, so we’ve got an Alice in Wonderland day out, and a Winter Wonderland day with a few friends and their kids so there are things in the diary already. I like to go to Piccolino’s in Hale on Christmas Eve too, they do a Santa story time for little ones, so I’d like to do that together as a family as well.

Back to work

I’m back at Kiln Lane Dental after my maternity leave and doing one day a week at the moment. I’m really enjoying that; whenever I’m in the practice it just reminds me of how much I love my job.

I had a nice easy day for my first day back, lots of check-ups, and it was just so nice to be chatting to the patients again. It might sound a bit strange to say, but I was actually very nervous the night before, but it really is like riding a bike – you never forget the skill and how to do everything – so it’s good to get my hand back in again.

The big mingle

Every year ITV has a big event, the Palooza, where they invite all of the talent, the advertisers, anyone who’s involved with the channel, and it’s a celebration and a showcase of the programmes that are going to be commissioned for the following year. It’s also a really nice social, which is great because you get to mingle with all of the ITV stars and celebrities.

This year, all the Housewives have been invited. We’re staying at the Park Plaza hotel in London, so we’ll all be getting glammed up and getting on the red carpet. I’ve got a dress that’s being specially made for me for the occasion and I’ve got my first fitting next week so I’m really excited to see what it’s like. I’ve gone for something very simple and very elegant this year, so I’m really looking forward to trying that on and seeing how it looks.

The ITV Palooza has such an amazing mix of talent on the guest list, there’s people like Keith Lemon, Ant and Dec, Paddy McGuinness, so you get to rub shoulders with all of them!
