A Brighton outdoor sauna has been named among the best in the UK to relax at by the sea.

Beach Box Sauna was named among the top seven saunas by the sea according to a list from The Times.

Discussing the creation of the list the newspaper wrote: "Nordic sauna culture is taking the UK by storm and there are now 93 British saunas to choose from — and about a third of them have popped up on our beaches.

"As well as a chance to warm up in the coldest months of the year, they offer plenty of health benefits, it’s reported, from improving sleep quality and reducing stress to boosting energy levels and your immune system. We’ve found the ones worth stripping off for."

What did The Times say about Beach Box Sauna?

The Times credits Beach Box Sauna as starting off the outside sauna trend in the UK when it popped up in 2018.

It is now made up of a small outside spa with three saunas, two matching converted horseboxes and a larger, 12-seater cedar sauna.

They added: "There are plenty of treatments to try too, including hair masks and salt scrubs, and you can even book a session with a trained sauna master, who taps a traditional Finnish leaf whisk (a bunch of leaves tied together) across your body to increase blood circulation.

"The sea is just a short hobble across the pebbles, but if that doesn’t appeal, jump in the steel tub or the plunge pool nearby to cool down.

"A further fix of fun awaits at the pier’s amusements and you can retreat later to the Ginger Pig, just along the coast in quieter Hove. It’s also just steps from the waterfront, should you fancy another dip."
