Gloucester-based building company Barnwood Construction, founded in 1962, celebrated its 50th Anniversary with an evening dinner within the grounds of The King’s School, Gloucester. Guests were welcomed with champagne and soft drinks before dinner held in marquees.

Local civic dignitaries including The Sheriff Philip McLellan and The Sheriff’s Lady Doreen McLellan, were in attendance. Guests were made welcome by rugby legend David Duckham, who got the evening underway. Barnwood Construction’s Chris Gabb made a short speech before grace.

BBC Radio Four’s Today programme presenter John Humphrys and impressionist Rory Bremner, helped mark the company’s first 50 years of business.
