What’s your favourite festive snack or Christmas dinner side dish? Pigs in Blankets surely come high on the list but would you put them on top of a cheesecake?

Joe Moruzzi, the owner of Redhill-based cheesecake company Pleesecake certainly would and has done so for his most controversial cake to date.

With a celebrity following including Peter Andre, Joe Wicks and even the Queen, Joe’s customised cake creations are at the top of the wish list for anyone looking for an instagram-worthy centrepiece for a celebration

Continually pushing dessert boundaries with flaboyant style, Pleesecakes recently launched its Christmas collection which includes The Notorious P.I.B - a cheesecake topped with these salty morsels.

The cake, which serves ten to 12 people and costs £38, comprises a cheddar cheese, oatmeal and thyme base with a savoury cheesecake filling containing fresh thyme and sage, topped with a sweet caramelised onion chutney, a generous portion of crispy pigs in blankets and fresh sprigs of thyme and rosemary.

Sure to be the talking point among guests at your Christmas table, the cake makes a great alternative to the standard post-dinner cheeseboard but if that doesn’t quite whet your appetite then the collection includes two other quirky creations.

Fashioned to look like a traditional Christmas pudding, Rebel Without A Claus is a rich chocolate orange cheesecake encased in a dark chocolate and praline feuilletine sphere, complete with chocolate orange Kit Kat, Lindor and Terry’s pieces and ecorated with a white chocolate drip, and topped with homemade candied oranges, raspberries and cinnamon.

To give it the real wow factor the pudding, which costs £48 and serves eight ot ten people, comes with a pine wreath and pack of battery powered fairy lights.

Finally, if you’d rather have a go at creating your own masterpiece, the Saint Nick’s Surprise festive DIY kit (£38) comes complete with everything you need to create your dream, Insta-worthy Christmas cheesecake at home.

The cheesecake itself comes ready made with a frozen pecan and fudge digestive base and caramelised pecan swirl cheesecake filling, along with signature chocolate ganache and tons of yuletide treats, such as homemade pecan fudge, caramel pecan cookie dough and golden and dark chocolate shards, for you and the family to decorate it with.
