From a city bakery to a gastropub in a converted watermill, these Norfolk favourites have been named among the best places to eat in the UK this summer.

The newly-published list in The Observer includes 67 spots for the perfect meal or snack in the sun. 

To compile the article, it took recommendations from top chefs across the country.

The Norfolk listings were chosen by chef-patron Richard Bainbridge of the three-AA rosette Benedicts restaurant in Norwich.

He selected six places in total, including two pubs - The Brisley Bell, near Dereham, in a "beautiful setting with sheep grazing", and Sculthorpe Mill, near Fakenham, which is a "real family pub" that "focuses on local ingredients".

He also rates Norwich bakery Bread Source with its "phenomenal bread", street food trailer Fat Cow in Fakenham, serving burgers and ice cream in an "amazing" wildflower meadow, and the "delicious" Stubby's Pizza in Sheringham.

Finally, he praises the Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant Meadowsweet in Holt and said it is a place you "may want to plan your holiday around".
